I have a experience of 8 years on linux.I've installed multiple scripts on linux + Installation of such panels. So If you have an unmanaged vps i can giv you the management via free cpanel on which you can easily access databases(via phpmyadmin), mails, ftp and host UNLIMITED domains. you know that the managed vps price is almost 100% greater than the unmanaged vps so i can you you management and the cpanel / whm price is 15$/ month but i can install capnel alternative. The only way you can upload, organize and manage your files on your server is only via FTP. If you  are using cPanel it would do the task, but you know cPanel is not free. You have to pay 15$ per each month for cPanel.  But Here I am talking about a free control panel PYDIO in which you can upload,download,create files and folders etc similar to paid cPanel. Remember there would not be any additional cost and you can use this lifetime for free. I would install this software on your VPS which would only cost 15$ which is as same as one month cPanel license.
